The Belgian Data Protection Authority ("BDPA") monitors compliance by organisations with data protection legislation and has shown itself to be very active since the entry into force of the GDPR. In this seminar, we will provide you with an overview of what to expect when subjected to an investigation by the BDPA, and we will walk you through the various steps of a procedure before the BDPA’s Litigation Chamber. We will also highlight several interesting decisions of the BDPA and Brussels Market Court and provide you with tips and tricks to prepare for potential litigation before the BDPA. To conclude, we will touch upon the possibilities to act before courts against competitors that infringe data protection legislation.
