Mediation to be better promoted within the Belgian judiciary system

The Minister of Justice, Koen Geens, indicated in the general policy plan for 2017 that it was necessary to rely more on mediation as an alternative dispute resolution method. To promote mediation, a draft law will be submitted to the government this autumn. The Minister formulated concrete proposals for promoting mediation in his speech on 17 October at the central day of the Mediation Week, organized by the Federal Mediation Commission.
