Mediation is a voluntary process whereby a neutral third-party, called a mediator, will assist the disputing parties in reaching their own agreement.
Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes such as mediation, may help to avoid the cost, delay, and uncertainty of taking a matter to court. Mediation may also offer creative solutions, protection of confidentiality and the preservation of important relationships.
Mediation can be used in a wide variety of disputes, including employment disputes, commercial disputes, intra-group conflicts or disagreements between shareholders or directors, disputes arising out of the transfer of a (family) business, etc.
& DE BANDT has acquired a significant amount of expertise in the field of mediation. Members of the firm have also followed specific training in mediation and have been accredited by the Belgian Federal Mediation Commission.
